Joplin, Missouri is one of 15 US cities that Airlines may suspend flights to in October as travel demand remains low as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
American said it will cancel just over 700 flights in October to and from those 15 airports but warned it could make additional cuts or could reconsider if Congress provides more assistance.
KKOW news director Steve Scott had a chance to visit with Joplin Regional Airport Manager Steve Stockam about the announcement from American Airlines on suspending service for 28 days if not able to get further assistance from the government
