Today we celebrate the U.S. Army’s 247th birthday. In 1775 the U.S. Army was created, which initially consisted of volunteer soldiers fighting the Revolutionary War. The proud #armystorng men and women of the U.S. Army continue to provide peace and security for all of us.

The U.S. Army is about to turn 247! Yesterday, we kicked off the week-long celebration with the annual #Birthday Festival.
Soldiers and families enjoyed a day of activities including food, entertainment, a centerpiece birthday cake, and much more, celebrating the Army’s excellence.#ThankYou to U.S. Army Chief of Staff General James C. McConville, Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth, and Sergeant Major of the Army Michael A. Grinston for hosting this festival.
