The song “Travelin Soldier” is a touching tale about an American soldier during the Vietnam War who is shy and lonely. The young soldier is brave enough to strick up a conversation with a high school girl at a diner. After the soldier’s deployment, the two continue their talk through letters forming a friendship and quite possibly even love. Sadly the two never meet in person again.
