The Six Signs of Heat Stroke in Dogs

Heat indexes continue to remain high in our area please make sure to bring pets inside during this time! Six signs of heat stroke in dogs include rapid panting, a bright red tongue, diarrhea, vomiting, thick saliva, and weakness. If you believe your dog is suffering from heat stroke, follow these steps:

-Move the dog to a cool, ventilated area indoor area
-Apply COOL water to their whole body, avoid shocking their taxed system with extremely cold water
-Apply COOL towels to their head, chest, and neck
-Give them SMALL drinks of cool water
-If conditions do not improve, then take them to your vet ASAP
