Scientists tracked thousands of couch potatoes over 12 years. They observed what kind of different lifestyle changes could make. Those who did about 20 minutes of moderate exercise daily (like walking) saw their mortality fall 45 percent. Even those who just upped their exercise to 10 minutes a day saw improved longevity. It’s a day that ends in “y,” so of course, there’s a new TikTok trend.

This time, it’s eating candy before and during a workout. Yes, really. Apparently, it’s been around for a while, but as soon as it hit social media, it blew up. We’re talking about sour candy, specifically. The sugar in sour candy converts into glycogen fast, which “fills up your tank” so you can keep working out. Basically, the candy is full of fast-digesting carbs. Powerlifters use this method specifically. But does it work? A guy from Buzzfeed tried it and said it worked…kinda. Nothing earth-shattering, though. We’ll try it as an excuse to eat candy at the gym…
