Dolly Parton Gets The Carnegie Medal Of Philanthropy

Is there anything this woman can’t do? Dolly Parton is 76 and still crushing it! The country superstar was honored with the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy for everything from fighting poverty to “advancing medical research, including on pediatric infectious diseases and the development of a COVID-19 vaccine.” That was from Carnegie’s YouTube page. Dolly donated a million bucks (chump change for her) to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center to help fund the Moderna Covid vaccine. She says she’s proud to have this medal…and might have slept in it.

Dolly Parton, founder of the Dollywood Foundation, accepts the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy during the formal awards ceremony in New York City on October 13, 2022. Parton was recognized for her investments in alleviating poverty, strengthening early childhood education through the distribution of free books worldwide, increasing college access, and advancing medical research, including on pediatric infectious diseases and the development of a COVID-19 vaccine. www.medalofphilanthropy.org, #CMoP
